Fire Service Visit

Latest News

This afternoon, post-16 students gathered to attend a presentation by the Staffordshire Fire Service. Colleagues from the fire service engaged in a discussion with the students on fire safety and career opportunities within the fire service.

Regarding fire safety within the home, the fire colleagues underscored the paramount importance of prevention measures, including smoke alarms, escape plans, electrical safety, and cooking precautions. They emphasised the significance of charging phones during the day rather than overnight, and also that leaving them under pillows puts them in the direct line of danger. Additionally, they encouraged students to install smoke alarms in garages where electric bikes are charged.

The fire experts provided the students with an overview of the diverse career options available, ranging from frontline fire service roles to community outreach and support work.

Real-life experiences and career progression narratives resonated deeply with our students, who are considering joining the fire service upon leaving the academy.

We extend our gratitude to Adam Brunt and Rea Cole from the Staffordshire Fire Service for their invaluable contribution.
