Tantalising the tastebuds of our young readers!
As we start a new half term, some of our students are in the process of selecting their new reading books. When it comes to reading, just like eating, students can have picky palates. To encourage healthy reading routines, we have introduced ‘book tasting’. A book tasting is an event during which students ‘taste’, or sample, a selection of books, introducing them to different authors and genres.
Students record the title and genre of their book and spend some time browsing the book for first impressions, to see whether they want to add the book to their ‘menu’.
With a wide selection of books in our library, our students got stuck in to ‘tasting’ and hopefully made some great choices to carry forward into the new half term and into book club.
Happy reading!
