Last week, we headed over to Alsager for our annual Sporting Stars Sports Day, and what a day it turned out to be.
A huge thank you goes to Mr Miller, who organised the whole event. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and it was clear how much work had gone into making sure everyone had a great day.
The group was split into two teams, captained by Miss Naylor and Mr Patterson, and from the very first event there was plenty of friendly competition. The five events on the day were the egg and spoon race, Kwik Cricket, welly wanging, corn hole and tug of war, with every point making a difference.
For most of the day, Miss Naylor’s team held the lead and looked set to take the win. However, it all came down to the final event – tug of war. With one last push and plenty of encouragement from the sidelines, Mr Patterson’s team pulled off a comeback to win the final event and take the overall victory.
A special mention goes to Tyler, who got involved throughout the day with a smile on his face and gave every event a go. We’d also like to recognise Alfie, who impressed in the Kwik Cricket, and Jack, whose welly wanging certainly caught everyone’s attention with some huge throws.
The best part of the day wasn’t the final scores, though. It was seeing everyone supporting each other, celebrating the little wins and having a genuine laugh together. That’s what Sporting Stars is all about.
A big well done to everyone who took part, and another thank you to Mr Miller, Miss Naylor and Mr Patterson for helping make it such a memorable day. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
