Both Nurture and post-16 students paid their respects for Remembrance Day today.
Nurture attended the remembrance service at the Clocktower in Leek. They paid their respects with other residents of Leek and veterans. The students looked at the wreaths laid by local veteran groups and scouts during the Sunday service. They observed the two minutes silence and met a war veteran who was at the Clocktower.
Post-16 students visited the memorial at Fenton to pay their respects to our war dead. The students listened to the service and watched the veterans placing their wreaths. This afternoon they watched part of the service with Princess Catherine at the National Arboretum and learned about the history of Remembrance Day. They finished the afternoon by writing poetry inspired by their experiences during the day.
