Today, as part of their sport curriculum, some students were lucky enough to visit Manchester United!
The students were taken on a tour. This involved seeing the whole stadium, including important behind-the-scenes rooms. The students were able to go into the kit room where the players get ready before matches, a box in the stadium, and VIP areas. Following the stadium tour, the students visited the museum. This taught them about the history of the team, from humble origins to the world-famous team which it is today. The students were able to look at the trophies which the team has won.
The students followed this experience with a discussion with staff about what makes a good player and team. The staff were able to link healthy lifestyles and exercise to high-level football performance. As football fans, the day was certainly enjoyed by students and staff alike!
