Police Assemblies – Keeping Students Safe in the Community

Latest News

This week the police came to school to meet all students.  The police conducted assemblies with all year groups to make the students aware about the importance of personal safety.  The police discussed simple steps which the students could take to keep themselves safe in their communities.  The police also discussed knife crime and how to avoid circumstances where the students might feel unsafe and in danger.

VR headsets were also brought to school.  The students engaged in personal knife crime simulations.  Through the VR headsets the students were able to discover how their actions can impact on their own safety and that of others.  This was done in a safe, supportive environment with three police officers and Sporting Stars staff.

The assembly and VR simulation was very popular with the students and lead to lots of conversations about what they learnt.
