Year 11 students are continuing their work experience at Marrow House Dementia Assessment Centre each Thursday afternoon.

The students are finding their experiences to be really positive.  They have chatted to the residents and supported during mealtimes.  The students have led a bingo session and karaoke sessions for the residents.  They have also organised pampering sessions for the female residents.  The students have shown patience, manners and resilience working with the residents.  The residents have enjoyed spending time with the students and talking to them about their lives.

As they think about their futures, this work experience has been invaluable for the students.  The students have discussed with staff how groupwork skills, working with other professionals and leading activities are skills which can be used in any career.  The students have been able to include their work experience on their college applications.
