Year 10 Work Experience at Hanley Town F.C.

Latest News

A group of Year 10 students completed the first session of their work experience at Hanley Town Football Club.

Over the next few weeks, the students will be learning about basic grounds maintenance and care.  The students have been shown the work involved in preparing the grounds for match day and the behind-the-scenes involvement from a team of volunteers.

The first job the students were asked to get involved in was sanding down and repainting the benches which are used for visitors to the grounds.  The students learnt about working as a team and how to support each other, developing new skills.

The experience will be useful to students in helping them to apply for college in Year 11.  They will be able to show that they have not only developed their practical and teamwork skills but have volunteered in the local community.  This experience will be something which they can write on their college applications and can talk about at interview.

As we move towards the next academic year, Hanley Town will be a regular fixture in the students’ calendar, providing invaluable experiences which they can carry forward towards their educational experiences after our school.
