One important part of our post-16 curriculum is preparing the students to be ready for the world of work.
Post-16 students developed their skills as part of their Pathfinder programme today by experiencing life in a real working factory. This was a very lucky experience for the students, and something which we are sure the students will remember for a long time.
They were able to watch a working production line, talk to engineers and members of the finance team to find out what their work involved. The employees were able to explain to the students the qualifications needed to work in these fields and the expectations of the jobs.
The students further learnt about the importance of hygiene in a food factory and the implications for production if strict hygiene rules are not followed.
We are very grateful to Hill Biscuits for this experience and the time which they gave up talking to our students.
