Our Nurture students had the chance to step into the shoes of entrepreneurs during an inspiring and hands-on Business and Enterprise Day — and what a fantastic job they did!
This engaging session was designed to build confidence, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving skills, all while having fun and exploring what it takes to start and run a successful business.
Each group began by coming up with their own business idea, thinking carefully about their target audience, the types of products or services they wanted to offer, and how their business would stand out.
They chose a business name, designed a logo, and even considered their brand colours and slogans — bringing their vision to life with creativity and purpose.
Once their business identity was set, it was time to design their products — from handmade crafts to personalised accessories and more. Students thought about pricing, materials, packaging, and what would appeal to potential customers. They worked collaboratively and took real pride in what they created.
A key part of the day was understanding marketing and how to promote a business. Students explored different methods such as posters, social media, word-of-mouth, and customer service, all with the aim of attracting attention and generating interest.
They also looked at profit vs. cost, learning how to balance pricing with production expenses to make their business sustainable. It was fantastic to see them calculating, budgeting, and making informed decisions.
This experience wasn’t just about business — it was about building confidence, communication, teamwork, and an understanding of the world of work. Our Nurture students impressed everyone with their enthusiasm, focus, and originality.
