Exploring Careers in the Police Force: An Insightful Visit from Staffordshire Police
At Sporting Stars Academy, we’re committed to providing our students with inspiring opportunities to explore potential career paths. Recently, we had the privilege of welcoming Timothy Leathers from Staffordshire Police, who delivered an engaging presentation to our Year 11 students about careers within the police force.
The session was eye-opening as Timothy highlighted the wide range of roles available beyond becoming a police officer. Students learned about opportunities such as Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), call centre handlers, and various office-based positions. Timothy explained the entry requirements, including the necessary GCSEs, and shared insights into potential salaries, giving students a clearer understanding of what these roles entail.
The presentation sparked vibrant discussions, with students particularly curious about specialised roles like dog handlers and armed officers. Timothy’s approachable manner encouraged questions and offered valuable perspectives, leaving students feeling informed and motivated to consider careers in law enforcement.
We are incredibly grateful to Staffordshire Police and Timothy Leathers for their time and expertise.
At Sporting Stars Academy, sessions like these are integral to our mission of empowering students to envision bright futures and pursue meaningful careers.
